Brian Culbertson Brings Back The Funk With A Star-Studded Album
Brian Culbertson, one of the most popular contemporary jazz keyboardists and composers, has released a new album that pays tribute to the funk music of the 1970s. Bringing Back The Funk received critical acclaim from both jazz and R&B fans and critics. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Albums chart and number three on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. It also reached number 15 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 93 on the Billboard 200 chart. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 2009.
